Six NYC Women Compete for a Division I College National Championship

Six women who played high school basketball in New York City competed for a national title at the St. Pete's Times Forum in Tampa Bay, Florida, in April 2008. Lorin Dixon (Christ the King) and Tina Charles (Christ the King) played for UConn. Rosalyn Gold-Onwude (Archbishop Molloy) and Melanie Murphy (injured) (Midwood) played for Stanford. Stanford won the First Final Four game against Connecticut.

In the second and last game of the Final Four, Stanford lost to Tennessee. Two NYC players, Shannon Bobbitt(Bergtraum) and Nikki Anosike (St. Peters) played for Tennessee.
